Requirements for Certificate of Commerical Practice (CoCP)
1.) Compliance with the North Dakota Secretary of State's office.
Your company may need to register and obtain a Certificate of Authority (COA) from the North Dakota Secretary of State, for more information please see their website www.sos.nd.gov/.
2.) Registered North Dakota Professional(s)
Your company must have professionals who are actively registered in North Dakota in the area(s) in which you intend to provide services. For example:
- Engineering Services (PE) = requires at least one activley registered Professional Engineer in North Dakota.
- Land Surveying Sevices (LS) = requires at leaset one activley registered Professional Land Surveyor in North Dakota.
- Full Practice (C) = requires at least one actively registered Professional Engineer and one activley registered Professional Land Surveyor in North Dakota.

Credit card payment must be remitted at time of submission.

Application Approval Process
This applications is only open to companies desiring an initial CoCP license in North Dakota, companies whose North Dakota CoCP license has been in a lapsed status for more than one year, and companies whose North Dakota CoCP license has been in an inactive status for more than two years.
Once you have submitted the application, please allow 6-8 weeks for processing. Once the application has been reviewed and approved, the company will receive an email letting them know it has been approved.
